STOCKHOLM(Heven for love)
Sweden’s capital is a standout amongst the most wonderful major urban communities on the planet, an illusion of saffron-and terracotta-coloured edifices shining between blue water and bluer skies all June through August timeframe, or secured with snow and dabbed with lights in winter. It’s additionally a vibrant, present day city, well known for transforming smooth plans, memorable style and planet class clubs.
Stockholm has honestly gentle temperatures all through the year. As a consequence of its northerly scope, the city sees a tragic seasonal variety in daylight, from more than 18 hours of sunlight around midsummer, to around 6 hours of sunshine in late December.
And if u gonna get chance to see aurora lights here,i must say u are d lucky one, mmmmmmmah

The first question we asked ourselves was how to explore Stockholm? We are sportive, so walking long distances in a big city is not a problem; it is also the best way to see the most. An alternative could be a Hop-On-Hop-Off tour bus or boat, because Stockholm is a collection of islands. On the first picture you see a panoramic view of Gamla Stan. Stockholm like many Scandinavian capitals has an Amusement Park, from the bay you hear and see the roller coasters riding. Unfortunately we didn’t have the time to visit it, we prefered a more cultural program. Between the islands it is very busy with all the steam boats and water taxis. The city has plenty historical and beautiful buildings. We were lucky it didn’t rain until the end of the day just exp.while we visit yellow church.

1.VASA MUSEUM

When browsing through travel guides and brochures of the capital city of Sweden – Stockholm, one might notice that people underline the Vasa Museum as one of the must-visit places among top museum in stockholm In fact, the Vasa Museum of Stockholm is considered to be the most famous museum in the entire Scandinavian region.

The Vasa museum is a real ship that sailed the seas in the XVII century. Enormous in sizes and incredibly beautiful, this ship sank in 1628 during maiden voyage. The Vasa museum was built in between 1626-1628 by his majesty king Adolphus of Sweden.

Scandinavia’s most visited museum was constructed around one of the world’s foremost art treasures. It is the only preserved ship in Scandinavia and in the whole world from the 1600s.

Although it was supposed to become the most important and representative ship in the country, it swam only several miles and due to the numerous mistakes in construction, it sank. The Vasa was under the water for 333 years.

The ship was delicately reconstructed; it has 3 floors that let you overlook it from different sides. Here you will find crew’s skeletons, patriotic merchandises, pictures, that personify the king and his family and several cannons.

The museum is a real treasure for marine history lovers. After all, it is the only preserved ship of the XVII century. Diving gear, dramatic history of sailing and lifting of the flagship could spark interest, especially of the male side.

In addition, museum presents tours through reconstructed ship cabins of the Middle Ages, numerous ship models and a movie about heroic crusade of Gustavo Vasa. One of the funniest things to be done during your visit to the museum is to play a game, which is called “Save Vasa”. It is a little computer game that allows each visitor try to change the project so the ship would sail at least 5 miles more. Unfortunately, it has one end: after the ship projects 2/3 hoaxes, Vasa goes under the water and the king commits you to quartering for building off-the-line flagship. This leads to a conclusion that Vasa ship was doomed from the start.

Today Vasa museum is a bright attraction of the capital city. According to the surveys, by now, it has been visited by more than 25 million visitors. It is not only enormous, but incredibly beautiful. Its outlook was thoughtfully designed to create one of the most luxurious ships in the world. This famous name was also given to the hotel that is called Hustav Vasa Hotel. When staying there it will remind you of the beautiful ship and the heroic crusade.

The museum has nine large exhibits, a gift shop, and even a first-class restaurant, where one can try most delicious marine-style meals.

2.ROYAL PALACE OF STOCKHOLM
Just like the royals in London, the royals in Sweden have more the one residence.  Drottningholm which is just outside of Stockholm has been the monarch’s personal residence since 1980. The  Royal Palce of Stockholm is the official residence of His Magestry the King of Sweden and a significant proportion of the King and Queens official entertainment functions take place in the large apartments.

Enjoy the photos of the Royal Guard which has been stationed at the Royal Palace since 1523. The military band marched through the city streets to the outer courtyard of the Palace. The performance included the changing of the guards.  After the changing of the guards, We spent the balance of the afternoon touring the castle.

3.NATIONAL MUSEUM OF STOCKHOLM (combination of art, architecture, lust & sex)
Image

We didn’t have high expectations of the National Museum in Stockholm but we got seriously surprised. The exterior of the building looks sober but once you enter, you face a giant staircase with a great gallery on the first floor. The gallery walls are covered with art work and the ceiling is nicely decorated. Many rooms of the museum have different styles as also a wide range of art like paintings, statues, porcelain, furniture and even modern pieces. Our preference is more classic and went out to the paintings of which you see a few examples below.

4.THE OLD TOWN OF STOCKHOLM,(Gamla Stan)

Gamla Stan is the oldest part of Stockholm and finds it origin in the 13th century. It is a nice district to walk through with all its coloured historical houses. Some streets are so narrow that you can touch both houses at the same time on each site of the street. Next to some churches, Gamla Stan has many cosy shops and café’s.

5.NORDISKA MUSEUM
Our time is limited and we are walking into the direction of the Vasa Museum to see the ancient war ship. Just across the bridge in front of us we see an enormous building. It attracts attention with its dark façade, beautiful statues and sculptures. There is even a big Obelisk in front of the museum square. The Nordiska Museum houses exhibitions of Swedish art, unfortunately we didn’t have enough time to go inside.

6.A YELLOW WHITE CHURCH IN THE HILLS,(Katarina Kyrka)

Talking about strange colours for a church, yellow and white. It certainly makes it unique for a religious building. We had seen a picture of the Katarina Kyrka in a book and had to search hard to find it. It is somewhat hidden in the hills around Stockholm. Arriving at the church it started raining. Luckily we found shelter inside the church. The interior was white, with blank walls and almost no decorations. The organ looked beautiful and the altar was very special because it was supported by columns. It quickly stopped raining, we took some exterior pictures and continued our walk to the hotel. Unfortunately by the time we arrived at the hotel, we were soaking wet.

Close to the Royal Palace at the edge of Gamla Stan, you find the Stockholm Cathedral Storkyrkan. Like in many Stockholm churches, you need to pay an entrance fee but this was worth it. The walls and arches are in a type of brick stone and this is very rare. The impressive sculpture of St. George and the Dragon dates from 1489. It tells the story of St. George who defeated the dragon of Selene that received human offers in return of not destroying the village. The day that the princess was offered, St. George killed the dragon. For me the ebony altar with silver elements was the most fascinating piece of art in the church.

Stockholm is an amazing city. We are walking through the narrow streets of the old town of Gamla Stan when we see the high tower of the Tyska Kyrkan church. Originally this was a big merchant house but became a church during the 17th century. It is a Baroque church with many wooden elements and a Royal lounge, something we have never seen before. For us the most wonderful elements of this church are the stained glass pieces of art.
